We believe in transparency. Our OCR achieves up to 95% accuracy on clean, 300 DPI or higher documents. On lower-quality scans, handwriting, or complex multi-column layouts, accuracy will be lower — and we say so clearly. We will never claim 99% accuracy on all documents because that is not true for any OCR product.

Account Data

When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash). We never store plaintext passwords.

Document Data

We do not store your documents. Files uploaded for conversion are held temporarily in memory during processing only and are permanently deleted from our servers immediately after your download link is generated. We cannot access or read your documents.

Usage Data

We collect anonymised usage statistics (pages converted, formats used, general location by country) to improve the service. This data cannot be used to identify you.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and operate the GetClearOCR conversion service
  • To send transactional emails (conversion complete, account confirmations)
  • To send service updates and product news (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • To detect and prevent abuse of the service

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We use the following third-party services which may process data: payment processing (Stripe), email delivery (Resend), and hosting (AWS EU region). All are GDPR-compliant.

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time. Converted files are deleted immediately after download. Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by tax law.

GetClearOCR provides an online optical character recognition (OCR) service that converts scanned PDF files into editable Word, Excel, and Text documents.

2. Acceptable Use

You may use GetClearOCR only for lawful purposes. You must not upload documents you do not have the right to process, use the service to infringe on third-party intellectual property, attempt to reverse-engineer or abuse the API, or use automated tools to exceed your plan's usage limits.

3. Accuracy Disclaimer

OCR conversion accuracy depends on the quality of the source document. GetClearOCR provides no warranty that converted output will be error-free. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of converted documents before relying on them for professional, legal, or commercial purposes.

4. Payment and Cancellation

Paid plans are billed monthly. You may cancel at any time from your account dashboard and retain access until the end of the billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months. If you dispute a charge, contact us within 30 days.

5. Limitation of Liability

GetClearOCR is provided "as is". We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, including data loss or errors in converted documents.

6. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of all documents you upload and convert. GetClearOCR claims no rights over your content.
